Notes to questionnaire for survey B5

At Riga meeting John Perry distributed the new design of questionnaire for survey B5 (file doc60_b5.doc). On this form the range of year is in 4 digits in questions for cessation date (question 8), registration data (32A) and activity starting date (33).

Considering that for processing this year we will not change the software for data entry, we will keep the previous 2 digits range for years in above mentioned questions (i.e. 8, 32A and 33). However, notice please the change on the printed form of questionnaire:

On the other hand, in question 28 (year of birth) we will print still 19.

Converting the year in 2 digits into year in 4 digits will be done in central processing when creating the result data base (as it was done in B4).

So, the questionnaire is basically the same as for survey B4, there are only the following small changes in it:

The subsequent changes in entry programs and in the whole entry package will be described in the distribution package at the beginning of September.
