The
Information Society Project Office (ISPO) at the European Commission is
setting up an Inventory of European Information Society Projects and Actions.
This initiative acts as a decision support system for the implementation of
Information Society initiatives and actions. This initiative is called ESIS.
and has already been implemented for a period of two years.
The
inventory holds information on a broad range of commercial and publicly funded
Information Society application projects in European Union, Central and
Eastern European countries and in Mediterranean countries. It provides a tool
for knowledge, communication, partnership and the promotion of best practice
examples. Furthermore, it serves as a navigation tool for all key actors and
help in the promotion of the Information Society.
The
Commission makes general findings and statistical results openly available to
all parties with a strong interest in the development and progress of
Information Society initiatives, including :
·
various
European Commission directorates, units and services
·
industry and
social partners
·
individual
organisations and research bodies, including those completing this

What
is the Information Society project definition used for E.S.I.S.
Inventory ? "Information
Society projects use data processing and telecommunications technologies
to support innovative methods of communication between members of
society for a wide range of purposes (e.g. education and training,
healthcare and social care, culture, administration, industry and
commerce, research & development, etc.)." Projects of this type will generally be interactive (two-way communication between users and systems or among users) and involve remote access (with users and systems able to communicate over a distance). Projects may have a societal dimension or will possibly serve as a model for other organisations and businesses.

If
your project fits this description and is being conducted in part within your
own country, we would be extremely grateful if you could spend some time
filling in the following questionnaire (approximately 20 minutes).
As
a general rule, all data on individual projects will be treated as
confidential and non-attributable outside the Commission. The responses are
included in a publicly accessible database on European Information Society
Projects if consent is given (see section G “ Consent for inclusion ”).
Any
additional information on your project (full description, promotional
leaflets, etc.) will be appreciated.
The dissemination plan for the findings of the survey includes one or more conferences at which respondents will be welcomed.
Please
return this questionnaire to the organisation in charge of the Inventory in
your country. For the Slovak Republic is contact address. If further
information or clarification is required, do not hesitate to contact them.
