Slovak Republic Y2K Transition CentreThe Slovak Republic Y2K Transition Centre has been set up on the basis of the Governmental Decision No. 1006 from November 17th 1999. The Transition Centre will be operational from December 31st 15,00 to January 3rd 15,00. Its role will be to monitor the critical infrastructures (energy, telecommunication, transport, banking, security, health care, water, customs) through the rollover days and co-ordinate activities in case of emergency situations. The Transition Centre will continuously exchange information with the International Y2K Co-operation Centre in Washington, the Regional Y2K Centre in Sofia, the NATO Headquarters in Brussels and, if necessary, also with further international organisations as well as with foreign embassies in Slovakia. The Transition Centre will be headed by the Minister of Economy.
